Apple’s Text-to-Voice Patents: Goodbye to GSM technology

Flow-chart of Apple´s text-to-voice patent application Sure cell phones keep getting cheaper and cheaper these days, but nevertheless, if you’re someone who would rather hold on to your old small display buddy, but hate the idea of cringing and harassing your eyes while reading text messages, then you might have some reason to smile.

With the US Patent and Trademark Office having published Apple’s patent application titled: Multimedia data transfer for a personal communication device on July 26th, you might just have the option of listening to your loved ones messages without having to worry about reading them.

So while your girlfriend might find it cheaper to text, you needn’t burry holes in your pocket either, yet listening to those sweet nothings on Voice instead of text. It’s especially great for people with visual problems or those who simply don’t have the patience to sit through long text messages.

What you see up there is a flow chart detailing the technique by which Apple intends to make this possible. And the good news is, if you love the message too much, you can arrange it for subsequent playback, and if you’re busy with stuff and your special someone tried to reach you from some part of the globe, this might just have a backend server that will shoot that special message back to you later.
