After Canon filed for a patent for fuel cells, here now comes Sony Corporation with their solar battery. A report by UnpluggedLiving says that this solar battery does not make use of silicon at all. This could be good news in various ways, also financially: Solar batteries without silicon are a lot cheaper to produce since this is the element what makes them so pricey.
Overall, the battery of teh future could be green and cheap … Let’s just hope all of this becomes official soon.
