Pioneer has made a breakthrough, by successfully developing a new 500GB optical disc that contains 25 layers and can be manufactured to function with blu-ray players. You can store up to 20 full HD movies on a large disc with this new 500GB optical disc.
However, the catch is that this 500GB disc is going to be available in the market only after 2 to 4 years.
Wow! I can just imagine calling my friends over and showing off to them my classic movie collection. All of which is going to be contained into just 1 disc. ; ). The two year wait is a little too much though. I might even have outgrown my show-off-teenager sense by then. Too bad.
