GE reportedly is currently working on a new technology of turbine blades hoping that the future of wind power will be changed for the better. In Europe, there is a booming demand in wind turbines and looks like GE is all set to take advantage of it.
The new wind technology platform’s going bigger, according to Stephane Renou, GE’S manager of the R&D department, is not necessarily the answer to have more efficient power but the answer lies in two or three megawatt zone turbines.
However, the project might bring GE more challenges since new raw materials will be used, adding to the current cost/budget.
GE is now looking into different technologies and components that hopefully will optimize the current wind power technology.
