Macworld 2009: Snow Leopard to roar next month?

Mac OS X 10.6 Snow LeopardWe said that this is the season for Apple rumors and right we are. Here’s another look into the OS rumor that the Snow Leopard will be released.

Like most of the current speculation going on, we have no confirmation except for discussions around the Web that the next Mac OS will be launched earlier than expected with Phil Schiller delivering the important keynote.

So there’s no Steve Jobs on stage at the Macworld 2009 and it will be the last. Will that affect Apple and its millions of fans? Maybe not but a new OS certainly would especially if it comes unexpectedly even before Microsoft ships Windows 7 come 2010.

Even if the rumored Snow Leopard will be shown off at Macworld in January, it’s believed that the OS will officially ship in March or April, still earlier than Windows 7.

We don’t expect much features from Snow Leopard since the main focus is on it being the first OS to use a computer’s graphics processing unit (GPU) power alongside its central processing unit (CPU) power. Perhaps this explains why GPU pioneer NVIDIA is now highly favored by Apple.
