Modu is set to make a grand entrance this year at the Mobile World Congress with their modular phone. You may remember that a prototype was introduced last year. We did not hear about it again except for information that Modu cut off about 1/4 of their work force way back in November.
Next week, we’ll see what the Modu phone is all about complete with all its features. It’s a small mobile phone that comes with internal 2GB memory. Making this a special phone are the different designs of jackets that can be slipped to cover the modular phone.
Jacket designs include the following:
- Night Jacket. Night life design, flshing lights, and night mode imaging
- Street-art Jacket. Colorful design and interface with stereo speakers
- Classical Jacket. Basic functions
- Express Jacket. Colorful and playful design
The basic Modu phone costs $200 with a pair of jackets included. An extra jacket may cost between $25 up to $100.
