We’ve heard of Microsoft launching the MyPhone service but we had not much idea what is it all about except for its synchronization and backup service feature. Little did we know that this is very much related to Yahoo! Mobile, hoping to provide a more efficient mobile experience.
The new Yahoo! Mobile experience for the iPhone is still in beta mode. I checked it out but I’m still waiting for Yahoo to allow me to join the beta program.
Here’s how TechCrunch describes the Yahoo oneConnect:
OneConnect is a social address book that pulls together all your contacts, emails, IMs, SMS messages, and activity streams from other social networks and social media sites across the Web. Building on top of oneConnect, Yahoo Mobile will integrate more services such as oneSearch (its mobile-optimized search engine) and Yahoo onePlace (a fancy feed reader that lets you keep track of blog posts, stock updates, sports scores, and the like). The different apps appear in a familiar icon grid, just like on the iPhone.
The new Yahoo! Mobile will be available this March as an iPhone app and as a new web browser.
