Reading about the news of a 17-year old high schooler making a website named Rachel Harris made me glad that there are still teenagers who want to go to college and finish their education. Apparently, Rachel made a website iwanttogotonotredame.com that shows her intentions to enter the University of Notre Dame in South Bend, Indiana next year.
Rachel Harris is a current senior from Muskegon, Michigan. She’s a smart student with a 3.97 GPA. She has submitted ten college scholarship applications but have not received a positive response. She knows she and her parents will have a hard time paying for the $46,000 annual price tag so she made the website asking for donations.
The idea was clearly inspired by President Obama who included in his campaign Internet donations which garnered about $600 million. Rachel is hopeful that people would understand and hear her plea by sending donations.
We have no word if people have already given or how much she received.
