With lots of social network websites to choose from, you’d think people would already stop creating new ones. But no, a new startup called the HerHotSpot is recently gaining attention not just from the social media enthusiasts but from the women as well.
The website is definitely ‘pink”. It’s a cross between a social network and a girly magazine with all the content and features found. Its target is the Generation Y (of which I am still part of) women, providing a common place to “share stories, ask questions, and get advice on life, love, fashion, work and health” according to TechCrunch.
The major issues being discussed are style, post-college life, health, pop culture, work, and love. Members can post content and videos like in FaceBook or Twitter.
It’s not really another social network addition because this one simply integrates the Facebook Connect feature. At present, more than half of the content are from the users. I suggest HerHotSpot.com features more editorials. You know, to set it apart from being tagged as yet another social website which people can use for narcissism.
