Whenever Apple launches a new product, it not only makes money for itself, but makes several others rich; like in this case Youtube. The number of mobile uploads on the website have gone up 400% since the launch of the iPhone 3GS just six days back!
Can you imagine a single product contributing to a website’s workflow that much? No right? Well for Youtube it is just another day in the sun, as it has actually experienced a 1700% (yeah) growth in mobile uploads in the past 6 months, what with most smartphones coming with the video features like the iPhone 3GS.
As the days pass by and more and more people learn how to use this feature on the new iPhone, this percentage is only likely to go up. Not that we are complaining.
This will perhaps help fulfill the San Francisco City Goverment’s desire to make every individual a citizen reporter. Thanks to the ease of uploading video that Youtube and iPhone and other smartphones offer.
