While it’s a day of good news and anticipation for some very cool conferences and forums to come between this week and the next, Sony Ericsson’s decision to drop its Memory Stick Micro and switch to the more general MicroSD is a welcome relief.

Not that it mattered to me in any way, but some business acumen on Sony’s part seems to be a rare thing lately, and I am happy they decided to do this to stay afloat one minute longer.

Wonder what brought in so much common sense to them though. I hope they realise that screwing up any further should not be on their gameplate, as with the way the duo is sinking in the cell phones market, they need to cough up well in all other areas to stay afloat, else the duo will be history even before they know it!
