The Humanoid Robot you see here looks cute because of the iPhone 3GS head. It can show different facial expressions, dance, learn, and work as a wake up alarm as described.
The robot is simply a commercially available robot and the modder replaced the head with the iPhone. The robot is the Kondo KHR-2HV which costs about $1,300.
You can see the robot in action HERE.
