Google knows what’s good, whether it’s for your search appetite or for the environmental aspects of life. Which is probably why it realised pretty early in the day that if you are to have people work on reducing the consumption of power, make them realising the damage when they are not doing that. Period. Which is where Google’s PowerMeter comes in.
Google’s partnership with The Energy Detective will now give you that are pretty clear-cut monitors that will plug into your computer, suck some ethernet juice, and throw your power gluttony facts on your face. Pretty neat, I’d say.
It starts at $200, so knowing your gluttony is going to cost you some money for sure. So, if being environment-friendly means anything to you and you need a watchdog on your statistics with it, Google will probably have the answer to it.
