
It’s not surprising that Bing has ventured into mapping technology just like Google. Why, the former is trying hard to get into the search engine game. The impressive thing with Bing Maps now is that lasers are being used to provide a 3D map architecture and hopefully, a better view and photos.
Visually, Bing maps are impressive but right now loads slower. At present, Microsoft uses Photosynth technology to collect panoramic images and Twitter API. The data gathered are far from what Google has but at least Bing tried.
