So Apple iPhone 4 units are finally in the hands of the early adopters. We know about 600,000 were pre-ordered but we still don’t know how many have actually bought from the retail stores when it first went on sale last week. Apple still has not made a report but stores had sold out all their stocks.
Analysts Piper Jaffray said that 77% of the iPhone 4 sales are customers who have previously used iPhone. These people are just upgrading their iPhones and about a quarter of the number are new users.
This is just according to the 608 iPhone 4 buyers they surveyed in San Francisco and it’s not an actual sales report. According to the survey, 3% owned Android phones and 6% BlackBerry owners.
