
As a solution to the reception problem, Apple is giving out free cases. That’s good news for those who own iPhone 4s but it will cost the company a lot of money.
In fact, about $175 million will be spent on free cases for the iPhone 4. That’s a lot of money but I’m sure Apple knew about that. The i0S 4.0.1 update wasn’t able to solve the reception problem but only “corrected a bad algorithm for displaying signal bars” as reported by Neowin.
The $175 million may be a big amount but it can be nothing to Apple who had very good sales last quarter for iPhone 4 and the iPad.
