Roku recently lowered the pricing of some of their products. Perhaps as a response to the latest offerings by Sony and the upcoming Google TV, and the rumored Apple TV.
Roku repriced the standard HD to $69 from the previous $99 pricing, HD-XR not $99 from $129, and the Roku SD at $59. Roku may have lowered the price of the HD-XR with dual-band 802.11n but they added 1080p streaming support it. Not available yet but it will definitely come before the year ends.
The changes in price can bring Roku to the top because they are cheaper but you can still get Amazon VOD and Netflix. Let’s see if Roku will be successful. After all, Google TV and Apple TV have not made their grand entrance yet.
