Aside from 3D TVs and tablets, we can expect a surge of e-readers this year too. Acer just rolled out their newest LumiReader, hoping to rival the Nook and the Kindle. The LumiReader has been seen the past few months already but it’s only at the IFA 2010 in Berlin that Acer is launching the e-book reader officially.
Specs of the Acer LumiReader include a 6-inch monochrom e-ink display screen, 800 x 600 pixel resolution, a keypad, WiFi connectivity, 3G as an option, 2GB storage, a USB port, and an ISBN scanner.
Libri.de e-book store will provide books for the Acer LumiReader. Shipping starts next month in Germany. The 3G model is priced at €249 ($321) while the WiFi is at €199 ($256).
