FastMac U-Socket

It’s finally here! I’ve been waiting for this kind of socket for years eversince I realized that USB has a potential to make things easier for us geeks. The FastMac U-Socket features two Universal Serial Bus charge ports and a pair of standard three prong power outlet ports . It’s a first of its kind as it can accommodate USB gadgets and connect  directly to the electrical outlet.

According to FastMac, it “can be installed on any existing wall outlet”. Here are the specs:

  • Input voltage: AC 100 to 125V 50/60Hz
  • Output voltage: USB: DC 5.0V 2100mA (2.1 amps)
  • Operation temperature: 0 to 35 Degrees Celsius (32 to 95 Degrees Fahrenheit
