As 3D TVs are gaining popularity, 3D glasses too are undergoing different enhancements. No universal standard has been set yet. There are different features found in different pairs. Some have IR while some use Bluetooth technology.
The latest to join the bandwagon with 3D glasses are not just one but four companies: Panasonic, Sony, and Samsung, together with universal glasses maker XpanD. The team up of these big companies brings the “Full HD Glasses Initiative”. It’s expected to set the standards for 3D glasses compatible with upcoming TVs.
The first models of such 3D glasses are expected to arrive next year.
