Are Volts Outselling Half Of The Cars In The US or Not?

September 28, 2012

There is apparently much dispute regarding whether the Chevy Volt is a success or a failure. Some sources such as the Christian Science Monitor and a reader of Autoblog Green thinks it’s a success, with the Autoblog Green reader pointing out that the Volt outsold half of the light duty vehicle models in the U.S. The vehicles include the Lexus RX, BMW 7 series and the AUDI A6. That’s just yo name a few.

The reader also pointed out that the only vehicles to outsell the Volt were the Hyundai Senata Hybrid and the Toyota Camry Hybrid. While a Forbes contributor thinks differently claiming that GM was giving away rent-a-Volts to inflate the Volt sales  to 2, 831 units sold last month for a record high. He also called the Department of  Defenses intent of buying 1,500  to be a scam by the U. S. government.

In short, it seems as if no matter what the Volt sales are, there will always be people arguing pro its success and others con. Sounds like a bunch of conspiracies and personal opinions though. Also a tad pointless.
