us hacker 2.5 years in prison

A US hacker has been sentenced to 30 months or 2.5 years in prison for infecting about 72,000 PCs with a virus. Joshua Schichtel, 30, pleaded guilty to the cyber crime of allowing others use botnet. He was paid $1,500 to install the malware according to the US Department Of Justice.

Those who want to infect and spread virus on computers could easily pay Mr. Schichtel to do the job. But of course, like any crime, real or cyber crime, there is redemption. Hopefully, the 30 months of being in prison, will change this hacker. This is the first hacking he has done but unfortunately for him, he’s busted this time.
