Over at IFA, Philips introduced a new radio dock station that features a retro design: the Philips Philetta Radio Dock. This dock station takes on the original design of a Philips product first introduced in the 1950s. This is my kind of gadget design as it offers that retro vibe I’m so loving right now.
Expect modern audio technology packed into a retro radio. The Philips ORD7300 is modeled after a Philetta 255 radio from 1955 but inside lies a digital radio receiver. And for a more modern feature, it also functions as an iPhone/iPod docking station.
The Philips Philetta Radio Dock comes with a pair of large knobs for volume control and audio source selection. A digital display provides information on music titles, date, or time.
No word on pricing but expect the Philips Philetta Radio Dock to arrive this coming October.
