So it’s the iPhone 5. We were wrong about “the new iPhone“. We are still gathering information as the Apple Event is still ongoing but here’s what we know so far:
- glass and aluminum material
- thinner by 18 percent than the iPhone 4S at 7.6mm
- 20 percent lighter at 112 grams
- larger 4-inch display
- new Retina resolution 1136 x 640
- full sRGB rendering
- extra set of icons can be displayed
- iWork suite, Garage Band, and iMovie apps updated
- 4G LTE
- new A6 CPU processor
- 8 hours of talk time / 10 hours of phone use
- same 8 megapixel camera but with a 3,264 x 2,448 backside-illuminated sensor
- 720p front-facing camera
- same video but better stabilization
