In a recent report, Daimler plans to make the Smart For Two the least expensive mass produced German EV. The prices for a normal smart start at US13, 489 in Germany, while the For Two ED is priced at US24,824 with and added cost of US85.33 to charge the battery per month. But they do have a lot of competition from other EVs such as VW Up, Renault Zoe, Mitsubishi’s I-MiEV, Nissan Leaf and Chevy’s Vault naming just a few. All in the same price bracket, some even cheaper.
So the question is; is it possible for Smart to lower their prices so much to attract buyers over the competitors? Only time will tell.
