September 28, 2012

One thing consumers look for when buying TVs nowadays is connectivity and smart features. You get wifi and apps and streaming services, expect to pay more. But with a FAVI stick, anyone could settle with a dumbed-down LED TV for a cheaper price and get more for only $50.FAVI is like your typical USB flash drive, on steroids. This SmartStick is actually an Android device which comes with an HDMI connector you can plug into your television. And it’s not just some old version of Android – in fact this thing runs Android 4.1 Jelly Bean, and comes with 4GB of memory, built-in WiFi, USB 2.0, mini-USB DC input, support for microSD, a remote control but sadly, the company fails to disclose the processor running the stick, or how much RAM it has under the hood.

And when it’s Android, the possibilities are endless. Aside from being able to install games via GooglePlay, Android also has support for streaming services like Netflix, Hulu, Epix, Pandora, Spotify and more. And since this is almost like an HTCP, you can get a mini wireless keyboard with touchpad mouse for $39.99, sold separately, sorry.

The FAVI Smartstick will be available for sale at any Radio Shack, Best Buy stores or Amazon and Newegg this November.
