My iPad 2 is now obsolete. No thanks to Apple for releasing the 4th generation iPad only six months after the new iPad was launched. Like me, I know you didn’t see this one coming– an upgraded iPad. I know it’s looks just the same but it’s faster. Honestly, I won’t easily notice the difference but it’s new, it’s the latest…it’s fast!
I feel so bad for those who bought the new iPad recently but good news, some Apple Stores are going to exchange your units. Well, at least one store in the US is making the offer to upgrade your 3rd-gen iPad to the latest 4th-gen iPad. The Apple Store kind enough to do the exchange is the Stockton Street branch in San Francisco. According to Engadget, a branch inside The Mall at Millenia in Orlando, Florida is also willing to do the iPad exchange.
This iPad exchange isn’t a company-wide policy according to the 5th Ave Apple Store manager. The particular Apple Store will have to decide if it’s going to exchange the iPads bought in the last 30 days.
If you got an iPad in the last two weeks, you’ll have no problem because of the standard 14-day return policy. But then it’s really up to the Apple Store.
