Philips hue is The ‘World’s Smartest’ LED Lightbulb

October 29, 2012

We all know that lighting is key when setting the mood in a room, but with the bulbs we currently use, we could only settle for a gloomy yellow glow, or a cold blue cast from a fluorescent lamp. Philips’ hue (it’s so smart it defies capitalization rules), is a smartphone-controlled LED bulb that can cycle through different hues available in the spectrum at the user’s control. Want a cheery sunny-day feel in your room? Using a companion app for Apple iOS devices you get to control the light, without having to install a separate bulb, or pulling out the ladder from the garage to cover the bulb with a colored cloth. Available exclusively at Apple Stores on October 30, the individual units will cost you $59 each, with three-bulb promo packs and a wireless-bridge costing $199.
