 Galaxy Nexus

You all know what happened to the Galaxy Nexus in the US. Samsung fans will be happy to know that a US appeals court just overturned an injunction that bans the sale of the smartphone. This is the latest update to the crazy and never-ending Apple vs Samsung patent battle.

Of course, Samsung is happy over this development:

“We welcome this reversal by the Federal Circuit, finding that the District Court abused its discretion in ordering a preliminary injunction against the Galaxy Nexus. Today’s decision confirms that the role of patent law is to protect innovation and not to unreasonably stifle competition and restrict consumer choice. We will continue to take all appropriate measures to ensure the availability of our innovative products.”

The case involved four patents related to Sire and unified search but Apple could not demonstrate how they will bring the company “irreparable harm”. With this news, Samsung can also hope for the Galaxy Tab 10.1′s bright future in the US.

So yeah, the Galaxy Nexus will be available for sale soon. The Galaxy Tab 10.1 is expected to follow.
