Toshiba is believed to be working on a new camera sensor ideal for mobile use. A 13 megapixel camera sensor is said to be under development. Toshiba hopes to release this next-gen imager that could possibly rival Sony and OmniVision.
The 13-megapixel CMOS-based TK437 sensor boasts of the following: backside illumination and color noise reduction. The mobile camera sensor is yet to reach manufacturers this coming December. This means phones and tablets with TK437 camera sensor will be arriving next year.
