Sony sells one million PS4 units within 24 hours of launch

November 18, 2013

It’s finally out and as expected, the Sony Playstation 4 has sold fast like pancakes. The new gaming console sold more than one million units within the first 24 hours. This is not just hype as North America happily welcomed the new PS4 as the sales figure shows.

Sony aims to sell five million units by March of 2014. If the trend continues, Sony would be able to sell even more than the target. Problem is, some units have been reported to be bricking and won’t be replaced until 2014 in February. That’s bad news but Sony says that’s only a small percentage of the current owners and early adopters.

The question everyone is asking: Will Sony sell more than the Xbox One? The latter is yet to launch in a few days so I guess we’ll now very soon.
