RIM to Slash 2,000 Jobs Due to Low Sales

The Blackberry smartphone brand has seen better days. Due to the entry of the iPhone and later on the Android platform into the smartphone market, Blackberry sales has suffered. Even RIM’s entry into the tablet race, the Blackberry Playbook, did not do well. Recently RIM predicted their quarterly revenue to drop for the first time in nine years with its sales sinking. Google officially confirmed last Friday that Google+ had reached 10 million users and Paul Allen predicts that it will hit the 20 million-user mark by the end of this week. Recent reports say that Monday, the latest project from Google was close to 18 million users, with 750.000 new users signing up.
