Audiovox today showcases an Android-powered accessory that brings app to cars – specifically, those headrests. The custom headrest system from Audivox Electronic Corporation connects to a wifi network and provides entertainment to passengers at the back. Expect in-car social networking, web surfing, and a whole bunch of apps from the Google Market Place. Movies can also be played via the DVD player, or even media content from SD cards via the SD slot. It also has HDMI and USB support.

I seriously need this kind of app because I always forget where I parked the car. I think I got this from my dad who was so forgetful. The Find My Car Smart app may not be the first of its kind but this works with a USB adapter that shuts off when you turn off the car’s ignition and then takes note of your GPS coordinates every time. This is just another concept vehicle that I wish to see on the road soon. The Volkswagen logo is already a winner and the design is too cool for any driver. Technology is getting increasingly more advanced as the years go by. Here’s a good example; Brandon Fiquett, the developer for Siri of the iPhone 4S, has managed to hack the system to start his car via the smartphone. His car was fitted with a Viper Smart Start System which allows the smartphone to control the ignition system. So he just simply says start and the engine does just that.
