According to Baird Equity Research’s consumer smartphone survey in the US, out of 785 consumers, 42 percent said they are “interested” or “very interested” in an Amazon smartphone. Meanwhile, 29 percent responded that they are not interested or probably not interested from the online retail giant, which has recently switched its attention to creating its own branded products like the Kindle family of e-readers at its latest Kindle Fire tablet. StatCounter’s latest study discovered that of the global Internet usage, only 8.5 percent come from mobile device, specifically, the mobile phones. The figure seems small but it’s understandable because tablets — which are also mobile– are not included. Read more

Pew Research Center reports that 10 percent of the Americans owned a tablet by middle of December but the figure increased after Christmas, jumping to 19 percent. Read more
