Looks like more software running on older platforms will lose support and updates. Adobe Photoshop on Windows XP won’t be receiving future updates and versions. According to Adobe, the latest Photoshop CS6 will be the last to be offered to Windows XP users. This means the next version, Photoshop CS7, won’t be available for the old Windows OS. mehr »

Microsoft may only be gauging how the people will perceive the pricing of the next Office versions. The Office 2013 and Office 365 will be available but we don’t know for sure. We know that Office Home and Student 2013 will cost $139 complete with with Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and OneNote. If you want Outlook added to the pack for Home and Business use, it’s going to be $219. Meanwhile, the Professional Pack that will include Access and Publisher will be more expensive at $399. mehr »

Well it look like Microsoft will be removing their start tab that they’ve had for over 16 years from their Windows 8 software. This will surely take a little time getting used to because surely people can’t imagine using Microsoft without the famous “start” in the corner of the monitor. But when we say a little time we do mean just that. Maybe an hour or so. Come on; sometimes change is needed for progress. But we’ll see.
Facial recognition web app Face.com announced recently a new feature in its API – age detection. Just enter a URL of an image to the URL box and it analyzes the face returning with these values: minimum age, maximum age, and estimated age. Digitimes reports that Intel plans to discontinue development for its MeeGo operating system due to ‘a lack of enthusiasm’ for the platform. Instead, the report says Intel will divert its attention to ‘handset platforms to be paired with either Android or Windows Phone in 2012″. mehr »
