You may have already seen a BMW X1 before but this one here is different: it’s an electric version. It’s more like a “hybrid test vehicle” which could mean BMW is gearing up for an all-electric version and is expected to reveal one soon. mehr »

A few weeks ago, we learned of a converted Prius suddenly catching fire. The growth of electric vehicles maybe slow but we’re certain the future where roads are filled with EVs will come sooner than soon. Such eco-friendly vehicles are still expensive but more people are getting more interested in them. I know that someday, people will be able to fully control their vehicles right from a smartphone or tablet. It may be soon as Hitachi has just rolled out the Autonomous ROPITS Robocar–a self-driving vehicle that can be controlled from a mobile device.

The Bolloré Bluecar EV is going to be available soon for 12,000 Euros or $15,500. It’s a first of its kind as it uses lithium-metal-polymer batteries joined with a super-capacitor. The French car will be available without a battery pack though and owners have to rent batteries with an 80 euro monthly fee– mileage is unlimited. mehr »

Owning an electric car at this day and age is not really common. It still is in its early stages so related services and products aren’t readily available. Charging stations are open for specific cars and brands only but this will soon change as companies are collaborating to offer electric vehicle charging for all EV owners. mehr »
