Apple and Google are both on top but the recent ComScore report on the smartphone market in the US for the past 3 months showed that Apple is ahead in smartphone OEMs. It has taken over Samsung by 15 percent. Meanwhile, Google is on top with the Android platform. mehr »

We all know that there are more Android devices than iPhones but Velti, a mobile ad firm, is saying that the iOS platform still dominates in the mobile advertising industry. According to the firm’s analysis, 8 out of 10 devices were based on iOS–the iPhone 4, iPhone 4S, and iPhone. This is looking at the global ads exchange. Apple may not capture majority of the whole cellphone and smartphone market but it’s doing really well. The iOS devices– the iPad, iPhone, and the iPod touch– are all bestsellers in different countries. In India, the iPhone has since become more popular with a 400 percent increase in sales. This is according to a recent sales report that says iPhone lead the way during the last quarter of 2012. Brazil has gotten its very own iphone brand late last year. Because of this, Apple is going to lose the iPhone trademark in the country. Nothing certain yet but Brazilian electronics firm IGB Electronics SA is said to be challenging the trademark. According to Reuters, the decision will be announced on the 13th of February. mehr »

It’s that time for earnings call and financial reports. We’ve heard of Google’s recent success and now here’s an update from Apple for Q1 2013: a few bad news. Why, stock price has gone down which had investors worried. This isn’t something to be happy about since it happened during after hours trading according to a report, representing a ten percent loss, despite a 1.83% gain. The first quarter is not yet over…January isn’t even over yet but Apple is said to have sold 22.9 million iPads and 47.8 million iPhones already. Revenue is $54.5 billion, higher than last year’s $46.3 billion.

There are hundreds probably thousands of kinds of iPhone cases around the world today but only a few I consider as kick ass. I like those that are rough and can withstand the hands of a super clumsy person like me. But did if ever imagine having a touch sensitive phone case?
