If it’s not concept designs, patents give hope to us geeks and nerds. Some people can be too creative but unless their ideas become reality and are turned into actual products, they will remain just as that– ideas.

Software giant Microsoft recently filed for patent for what seems to be a head-mounted display. It features a narrow-beam laser with two dilation optics that creature 3D virtual reality display as described.

I have a feeling Microsoft is developing this to work with the Xbox and the Kinect. What do you think? We’ll see…
