I’m attending a Halloween Party this Saturday. It’s actually a Halloween-slash-Baby-Shower for a friend. Not exactly the perfect combination but it is what it is and I have no idea what costume to wear. I’m thinking I’d come as an Angry Bird but I’m certain a lot of people are already thinking that. I don’t want to be cutesy either. This time, I want to go geeky. Something like this Nikon D3 DSLR Costume.

The Nikon D3 DSLR Costume is functional as it really takes photos. Created by Tyler Card, this DSLR costume is perfect for any pro photographer. You see, you can enjoy the party and snap pics at the same time. It also comes with a working shutter button and Alienbees flash as described.

Who knew that the Nikon D300s DSLR camera could take great photographs of the earth even while in outer space? Apparently, the team behind Cygnus spacecraft believed that the cam afloat a weather balloon is capable of taking photographs of the Earth’s curve and managed to score great shots.

Are you a Nikon fan? Are you on the watch out for the newly rumored D800? Then here is the main catch, looks like you might have to save on your dough for quite some time. Because, the soon to be out D800 is said to be named at a price of $4000 and would come with a whopping 36 megapixel FX Sensor that allows the camera to capture full HD videos in 1080p at 30fps. Doesn’t that sound amazing? Eventhough the price is quite heavy on your wallet, its only $111 for each megapixel present. That’s not bad, if you are a photography fanatic like me.

Who wouldn’t invest a whopping $4000 for an awesome looking camera which can hold SD and CF card? On top of it goves you 36MP pictures with divine quality? If it’s you, this page isn’t for you. You should check this out!

We were expecting something new from Nikon as hinted by a new website iamcomings.com. But yesterday, the camera manufacturer revealed two new mirrorless cameras: the V1 and the J1. No, I don’t think they’re the ones being referred to by website since the countdown isn’t finished yet.

The mirrorless cameras are said to be a revolutionary digital imaging system according to Nikon. The V1 and the J1 are two cameras from the Nikon 1 series offering portability, speed, and impressive quality.

The Nikon V1 Mirrorless Camera features a super high-speed AF CMOS sensor, fast auto-focusing, Active D-Lighting, Picture Control, motion snapsot, smart photo selector, a short movie creator, ViewNX 2 imaging toolbox, 3-inch LCD monitor with protection glass, wide viewing angle, Image Sensor Cleaning, and electronic shutter among others.

Meanwhile, the Nikon J1 Mirrorless Camera comes with interchangeable lenses, Nikon 1 mount, 2.7 x lens focal length, 10.1 megapixels, dust shied glass, picture control, SD card slot, electronic shutter, Active D-Lighting, and more.

Visit Iamcomings.com and you’ll be greeted with a huge yellow sign. The color combination hints it’s something by Nikon. A countdown counter is there and as of this writing, it’s 31 something hours until a new revelation.

Who could be coming or rather what? A new camera, of course. Sadly, we’ve got no leaks or spy shots of the actual products to feature just rumors that it could be the J1 and the V1 mirrorless cameras.

Cameras are rumored to come with a 3-inch LCD, new Cx lens system, 2.7x crop factor, and 10.1-megapixel sensors plus built-in flash for the J1 and EVF for the V1.

We’ll see what’s “comings” in a few days…

April Fool’s Day is still far but I don’t know what Nikon is up to with its recent press released that reads:

Nikon understands that some article appeared in the media regarding Nikon’s imaging product. Please note that Nikon has made no announcement in this regards.

I don’t know with you but this made me laugh. Nikon is saying something about nothing that has not really appeared or did we just miss it?

And here are my comments:

First among Nikon DSLRs, the Nikon D3100 now comes in red but still sharing the same entry-level features with its regular color brother: Nikon’s 14.2 CMOS image sensor and EXPEED 2 image processing engine, ISO sensitivity of 100-3200 (expandable to an equivalent of ISO 12800), live view with its 3-inch monitor, and D-Movie function which lets you shoot 1080p movies and 11 point AF-system for quick and accurate autofocus shooting. NikonRumors reports that the camera will be available on September 22 in Germany which is expected to retail at EUR 599.00.
